BBWLA'S Draya & Dallas Cowboys' Corner Back, Orlando Scandrick Get Engaged
Yesterday on her Instagram page, BBWLA star Draya Michelle revealed that she was now engaged to Orlando Scandrick. She posted a picture of her hand rocking a beautiful six-carat, cushion cut diamond engagement ring!
The caption read:
"Yesterday, the love of my life asked me to be his wife…… I said YES !!! Love you @oscandrick32 forever starts now."
In an interview with People Magazine, Draya revealed that the actual proposal happened a day before the picture was posted and also detailed how the proposal went down:
"He told me to dress casual and we ended up going to where we had our first date [at the Arclight Cinemas in Sherman Oaks]. He was acting so weird and so nervous. When he walked up to the bar he tripped and fell over some chairs! I was thinking ‘What in the world is wrong with him?’
He got down on one knee and as soon as he started to talk I got nervous and couldn’t help but to laugh hysterically. I was laughing and crying at the same time."
I know we're all probably thinking the same thing: "Didn't these two just break up?" Technically yes, but apparently that time apart was needed to show them how much they really needed to be together! In the interview with People, Draya said:
"We were getting ready to take the next step and I believe that with new levels comes new devils. We needed a little time away to realize that we missed each other terribly. […] I never give permission to move on or anything like that. While he was in Dallas we stayed in contact and talked almost everyday.”
The two kept a very low profile after the month long breakup, which made this recent engagement come even more as a surprise.
Draya expressed her true love for Orlando when she said:
" I knew I was going to say yes to him whether he asked me now or four months ago. He’s the first man to make me want to be different and be mature."
I believe the two are destined to be together! And you know the old saying: If you love something, let it go, and if comes back then it means so much more."
