Tom Hanks' Son, Chester Hanks Says He's "Allowed" to Use the "N-Word"
N-Word for All- Chester Hanks or as his rap name goes, "Chet Haze", is the youngest son of Academy-Award winner Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump). The 24-year-old rapper has been getting a lot of heat lately after using the N-word in the caption of a picture he posted on his Instagram page. The caption read:
"Check out the song me and my nigga @chillthatdude just dropped on my Soundcloud#Juice LINK IN MY BIO #GoListen!!! π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯"
In typical Instagram fashion, users attacked Chet Haze with harassing comments and messages. The chaos was then taken to Twitter where critics brought Haze's father into the mix. One Twitter user said, "@TomHanks you should be ashamed,"
Chet Haze then added fuel to the fire when he posted a couple of videos on Instagram cursing those who attacked him for saying the N-word, stating: "(expletive) yall hatin ass (N-words)."
In the rest of his videos Chet tried to explain why he believes he can use the word and
Hanks tried to back pedal and clear everything up when he noticed things were getting even more out of hand saying, "It's a word that can be used for camaraderie and love, it's not just exclusively for black people." He takes it a step further defending his use of the word stating "who is to say only black people can use it? The way I see it, itβs a word that unifies the culture of HIP-HOP across ALL RACES, which is actually kind of a beautiful thing."
