Meek Mill Releases Drake Diss Track: Wanna Know, Leaving Philly Divided
Finally!
After what seemed like an eternity, Meek Mill finally released his response to not one, but two diss tracks by Drake (Charged Up & Back to Back) and it has left Philly choosing sides.
The skit-filled diss which is titled, Wanna Know, has been bashed and mocked for being "light", "weak" and "confusing". On the other hand, some fans claim that Meek's track took inside shots at Drake that went over a lot of listeners heads. In the diss track Meek referenced an alleged plagiarized song that Drake used; an incident where drake allegedly got peed on; and the Diddy slapping incident.
"I just wanna know, if you ain't write that running through the six s--t / Tell us who the f--k was Quentin running through the six with? / Running through the six with my woes / Counting money you know how it goes / All the real live forever, baby / And the fake get exposed / N---as writing for you cause you know you never did s--t / When I threw that hook out, I was tryin' to catch a big fish"
"Meanwhile I'm on the cover with a platinum chick / I got a platinum rollie, platinum whip / N---as frauds I told the truth, don't ask me s--t / All this industry fake enemy and rap s--t / It's never really my style we got cash to get / I really started from nothing now it's back to s—t / Puffy almost caught a domestic when he smacked that bitch / Hold up, let that bitch breathe."
Even before Meek released his track, Philly natives and hip-hop fans alike were already choosing. Drake fans from Philly showed their support for the 6 God, posting and re-posting memes that bashed Meek Mill, while Meek fans simply bashed those fans for what is known as bandwagoning or "d*ck eating" in Philly.
The feud which started about a week ago on July 22 when the The Dreams Worth More Than Money rapper ignited beef by making ghostwriting allegations against Drake via Twitter, Tweeting in part:
" Stop comparing Drake to me too... He don't write his own raps!"
“He ain’t even write that verse on my album and if I woulda knew I woulda took it off my album….. I don’t trick my fans! Lol"

The whole controversy and divide all boils down to loyalty in my opinion. Some people feel that since Meek is from Philly, Philadelphians should be supportive whether his diss was good or bad. Others feel that good music is good music and that we should give credit where it's due, and that in this particular case, Drake was owed some credit. The feud became territorial when fans started to realize that Drake's Back to Back" freestyle referenced Toronto beating Philly" back to back" in the MLB World Series in 1993 , which only played more into the idea that Philly fans should be supporting Meek Mill simply because he is from Philly.
The idea of being loyal to someone who came for another person who did nothing to warrant such hate is idiotic to me. The fact is Meek Mill started a war that he wasn't clearly built to finish and is now left looking stupid, even in his own city.
