Nicki Minaj's Brother, Jelani Maraj is Offered Another Plea Deal in Child Rape Case
On Thursday, Nicki Minaj's brother Jelani Maraj was reportedly offered a plea deal in his child rape case after his DNA matched semen found on the 12-year-old alleged victim's clothing.
Jelani was booked on first-degree rape charges back in December after a preteen accused the Anaconda rapper's flesh-and-blood of sexual assault.
Earlier this week, the Nassau County District Attorney's Office explained to the judge:
"…A DNA profile, a partial profile matching the defendant or consistent with the defendant, your honor, to the point in the hundreds of billionths of chance of it being any other individual, was discovered in the…pants of the complainant in this case, and also tested positive indicating the presence of semen."
Reportedly, the accuser also told police Maraj repeatedly raped and sodomized her in between April 1 and November 30, 2015.
According to Bossip, the Grammy nominee's big brother has since been offered a plea deal of 15 years to life. It's been reported Jelani was initially offered a deal of seven years in prison prior to being indicted back in April. At the time, he rejected the deal.
Maraj is scheduled to return to court in August, and if he chooses to reject this offer too his child rape case will start in November.
Currently, Jelani is out on bail. Be sure to check back for more details as this case is developing.
