Cara Delevingne Quits Modeling For Good
Straight Off of The Runway. No literally off the runway. Supermodel Cara Delevingne has reportedly quit modeling for good. In recent months there has been speculation that the Paper Towns actress was leaving the exclusive world of modeling, but there were no official confirmations. That was until yesterday when Delevingne's modeling agency, Storm Models removed the star's profile from its website.
This big move of course leaves the big question: "why?" Well, apparently Delevingne has been feeling a bit detached from the modeling world and more in touch with acting. She in fact called the very idea of modeling "fake". In the July issue of VOGUE Magazine, Delevingne said:
"The thrill of acting is making a character real. Modeling is the opposite of real. It’s being fake in front of the camera."
The outspoken model also may have alluded to her departure from modeling when she talked to WSJ about the pressure of being thin in the fashion industry.
"It's horrible living in a world where I'll get a call from someone saying, 'So-and-so says you were partying a lot and you were looking this way and you need to lose weight,'" she said in an interview with WSJ Magazine.
It looks like Delevingne wants to dive completely into acting. It seems that's what makes her happy and comes more natural. In the same interview with WSJ Magazine, she said:
"With acting, the last thing you do is try to look pretty. Modeling actually makes acting harder—it makes you so self-aware."
Along with her Paper Towns film, Ms. Delevingne is set to star in Batman's Suicide Squad which is set to hit theaters in 2016.
What ever she decides to do I'm pretty sure Cara's going to kill it!
