Artists to Watch Out For: Philly's Own Young Savage
At the age of 17, Young Savage became something like a local celeb on the hip hop scene when he freestyled for 20 minutes straight on Power 99's radio show with Dj Cosmic Kev. At the height of battle rapping, when countless young people were rapping for sport, Young Savage aka Daeshawn Johnson, was determined to make a name for himself.
Fast forward to today, where the rap style may have shifted, Young Savage has always kept his eye on the prize. Over the years he has amassed countless mixtapes and music videos. Most recently, he has been gaining buzz for the visuals for his track, "Young Curry", which was produced by G.O.O.D music's Charlie Heat and Philly producer Kenif Muse. "Young Curry" has already gained over 20,000 plays on Sound Cloud, again proving his staying power. With musical influences from the likes of Kanye West and Jay Z, Young Savage's work ethic and raw talent is evident in his track record. He has a seasoned vibe about him and he's just getting started.
