Mir Fontane — Youngest in Charge

Last night I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive listening party for Mir Fontane’s latest album “Who’s Watching the Kids 2”. The album which has features from Da Baby and Philly’s very own, Shawn Smith includes 11 tracks that take listeners on a ride through the life of the rising South Jersey rapper.

The album’s intro sets the tone with a dark crime scene skit, reflective of daily life in the inner city. As we progress through the album, Mir turns it up a notch, giving listeners insight into his lifestyle and how he navigates the craziness that comes along with it. Listeners are then redirected to a melodic side of the rapper as he takes a short trip through his personal relationship with his own renditions of trap love songs. After the lovey-dovey sh*t we are then slowly brought back full circle as we revisit life in South Jersey. The last track, “Homie’s Story”, closes the album out perfectly, while still leaving us wanting more.
